Role Overview:

We are seeking an ambitious, resilient, and dedicated Team Leader to step up toward a Deputy Manager role.

You will lead shift teams, oversee everyday operations, mentor support staff, and ensure strict compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards.

Key Responsibilities

Care, Safeguarding & Practice Standards

  • Maintain a nurturing, high-standard living environment that ensures young people are safe, protected from harm, and supported in their emotional and educational development.
  • Act as a role model, implementing clear boundaries and supporting young people with emotional regulation and behavioral challenges.
  • Lead the development, review, and monitoring of up-to-date care plans, risk assessments, timetables, and activity planners.

Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Lead shifts effectively, conduct post-shift debriefs, and provide clear handover information to senior leadership.
  • Supervise, coach, and shadow support workers, encouraging ongoing professional development and conducting monthly staff supervisions.
  • Oversee key documentation via ClearCare, ensuring accurate, up-to-date records and statutory compliance.
  • Produce staff rotas, chair weekly team meetings, and facilitate multi-agency professional meetings.
  • Oversee essential health, safety, and compliance duties, including environmental checks and fire risk assessments.
  • Participate in the management on-call rota.

Requirements & Qualifications Essential

  • Experience working in a residential children's home or supporting young people with complex emotional/behavioral needs.
  • Proven capability in shift management and staff guidance.
  • Strong critical thinking, observational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Right to Work in the UK (we are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship).


Desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (Residential Care) or equivalent.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care (or willingness to work toward it).
  • 1+ years of experience in a senior or team leading capacity.
  • Accredited Physical Intervention / De-escalation training.
